Start your tour on the north end of Fisherman's Wharf and take in bayside views of two of San Francisco's most iconic landmarks – the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. Your guide will fill you in on the city's history, going from Gold Rush boom and earth-shattering earthquakes, through to the global metropolis it is today. Make your way along the wharf and take in the smells and sounds of food stalls selling regional specialties like crab and clam chowder in sourdough bread bowls. You'll also walk a section of the Barbary Coast trail and learn about its past. At Pier 39, see sea lions, admire historic ships, and enjoy the buzz of the entertainment district. After that, it's time for Alcatraz. Say goodbye to your guide after they've taken you to the ferry, and explore Alcatraz Island and the famous prison during an audio guided tour. After your Fisherman’s Wharf Walking tour, which covers some Alcatraz history, your guide will show you where to find your cruise. * Photo ID is required when purchasing and picking up tickets. Photo ID is required to board the ferry. Over-sized packs and luggage are not permitted. No exceptions. The distance between the dock and Alcatraz prison is about 1/4 mile (.4km), and the elevation change is 130 feet (40 meters). * Sustainable Easy Access Transport (S.E.A.T.) is available to those with mobility impairment. * Consuming foods is only allowed at picnic areas. * Service dogs are allowed.
